This week: The Betfred British Masters

Where: Hillside Golf Club
Miles Travelled:

5,982 miles

My Role This Week:

I’m the Deputy Communications Director at the European Tour. I am running the media centre here at Hillside, overseeing all player media work and specifically looking after the media commitments of host Tommy Fleetwood.

Short Description:

Being based at Wentworth, in Surrey, England, it’s not often you get to drive to a tournament, so it’s a bit of a novelty being able to throw my new European Tour-branded Ogio bags into the car this week for the journey up to Hillside for the Betfred British Masters.

It’s actually the second time I’ve made the trip to the north west in as many weeks, as I accompanied our host Tommy Fleetwood to Media City in Salford for some pre-tournament promotion. Here he is on the BBC Breakfast red sofa when he appeared on one of the main morning programmes in the UK.

Keeping up the sofa theme, we’ve changed the press conference lay out in the media centre this week to use a Union Jack sofa we’ve employed in various parts of the pre-tournament promotional campaign. Tommy is one of the nicest guys on Tour to work with and here he is joining me on the sofa to address the media.

This week also marks the first Hero Challenge of the year which took place at Liverpool Princes Dock, taking golf into the city. Fittingly, it was our host Tommy who took the title, beating Matt Wallace in the final of the innovative shootout.
