My Role This Week:

I’m the Press Officer for the Trophée Hassan II in Rabat, Morocco. This week I’m looking after local media requests, helping arrange interviews for our broadcast partners and producing reports from the tournament.

Short Description:

Taking my OGIO bags out on the road for the first time. We flew from London Gatwick Airport to Rabat on a charter flight provided by the tournament organisers. There were just four spare seats as it was filled with European Tour staff, players and caddies.

Very happy with my desk for the week. I’m located next to the putting green and also right next to the recording area, where players sign their scorecards after their rounds. While I’m not working, I may be able to get a few tips off some of this week’s players.

Morocco hosts not just the European Tour but also the Ladies European Tour this week. The men play on the Red Course at Royal Dar Es Salam, while the ladies compete on the Blue Course for the Lalla Meryem Cup. Players from both Tours are sharing a players’ lounge, range and practice facilities this week. Here, Callaway Staff Professional Nino Bertasio is practicing next to Sweden’s Julia Engström.

Interviewing Holland’s Joost Luiten ahead of this week’s event. Joost is a great character and always happy to speak ahead of tournaments. He has had five top 15 finishes here in the last six years and came ninth in 2018 – expect a big week from the Dutchman!
